Ben En National Park covers an area of nearly 15,000 ha, in which, more than half of the area is the primitive forest with rich and diverse fauna and flora system. The nature of this place is also prominent with the Muc River Lake, which is about 4,000 ha wide, tens of meters deep is the watercourse of Muc River and four large streams in the area. Muc River Lake is divided into two lakes, Thuong (Upper) lake of more than 3,000 ha wide and Ha (Lower) lake of about 800 ha wide. With blue water all year round, the lake has more than 20 islands covered with green trees creating a charming landscape.

Ben En National Park was established in 1992. This area has preserved many epic legends. There has been a tale that, a long time ago when the universe was chaotic, a giant squid who is the son of Long Vuong (King of the Sea) fell in love with the scenery here, he was so busy with playing and wandering that he forgot the way home. When the water withdrew, the squid was stranded so he tried to struggle and the vestiges have been there until these days. The area where the quid died forms Ben En lake, the tentacles of the squid are the streams. Therefore, the lake is also named Muc River, which has an area of 4,000 hectares, a depth of tens of meters.

In addition to lakes, islands, and forests, Ben En also has limestone mountains in Hai Van Commune, which owns some fanciful caves, typically, Ngoc Cave with a length of about 80m, a width of 8m, a height of 2.5m, The inside is a shiny, light-colored stalactites.
